Questions from people creating a wishing well on With A Bow.
Getting started
With A Bow is an Australian digital wishing well and gift registry. You add cash funds, registry items and experiences to one page and share it with your guests. Cash gifts are paid into an account in your own name, never held by us.
Weddings, engagements, baby showers, birthdays, housewarmings, and anything else worth celebrating. If your event does not fit the standard categories, choose Other and tell us what you are celebrating.
Sign up, name your event, choose your plan and who covers the fee, add what you would love, and share your link. You can keep editing after you publish.
Yes. You can run several events from one account, such as an engagement, a wedding and then a baby shower. Each event has its own page, link and gifts, and all of them pay into the one bank account you connect.
Right now, each well is managed from one account. To plan together, build it side by side.
Your well opens for cash gifts 60 days before your event date. Registry items and experiences can be given before then. Guests who visit early can still see your whole page, and it shows them the date cash gifts open.
Pricing and plans
Checking fee details.
Starter suits hosts who want a free start and do not mind a fee on each cash gift. Essentials suits hosts expecting a larger total. Unlimited suits hosts who want the lowest platform fee at any total. The pricing page compares the plans against the total you expect to receive.
You choose when you set up your well: your guests cover the platform fee on top of their gift, you cover it from your gifts, or you share it evenly. Whichever you choose, guests see the exact amount at checkout before they pay.
You can move up from Starter to Essentials or Unlimited, or from Essentials to Unlimited, at any time. Gifts you have already received keep the fee they had. To move down a plan, email hello@withabow.com.au.
Checking fee details.
No. Guests buy registry items on the store's own site, so no money passes through With A Bow and there is no platform fee.
Building your well
Three kinds of gift. Cash funds, which guests give to on your page. Registry items and experiences, which guests buy or book on the store's own site.
Paste a link to an experience, such as a Viator tour, and add a price if you like. A guest opens the link, books it on that site, and confirms on your page so it shows as gifted. If you would like guests to chip in together, add a cash fund for it instead.
Yes. Paste a product link from an online store and we fill in the title and image, plus the price for Amazon links. If we cannot read the page, you can add the details and a photo yourself.
Yes. Paste the link from Viator, Klook, Tripadvisor or GetYourGuide. Guests book the experience on that site, and With A Bow takes no payment for it.
Yes. Add a cover photo when you set up your well. Photos are cropped to a square, and you can change yours at any time.
Yes. You can add, edit, or remove items at any point. If a guest has already contributed to a gift you want to remove, contact us first so we can talk you through what happens to those contributions.
No. Add as many or as few as you like.
Yes. Guests overseas can give by card, and at checkout they may see the amount in their own currency. You receive every gift in Australian dollars, paid to your Australian bank account.
Receiving your gifts
Your gifts are paid to your bank after your event, once card payments clear. Your dashboard shows each gift as Processing, with its expected payment date, and then as Sent to your bank. We email you about each payment.
Your well stays open for gifts for 90 days after your event date. Cash gifts that arrive in that time are paid to your bank daily once they clear, and we email you about each payment. After 90 days the whole well closes, including your registry items and experiences.
Not at the moment. Cash gifts are paid into an account in your own name, never held by us, and paid to your bank after your event. Your dashboard shows the expected payment date for each gift.
Your dashboard shows Total gifts received, the state of each gift (Processing with an expected payment date, or Sent to your bank), and your payment history.
Not at the moment. All your events pay into the one bank account you connect through Stripe. If you want to split your gifts, you can transfer between accounts after they arrive.
Sending Gratitude
Sending Gratitude is how you thank your guests through With A Bow. After your event, you send each guest who gave a personal email, with your own message and, if you like, a photo from the day.
Yes. You write to each guest separately, so every message can be different, and you can add a different photo each time. Guests who gave anonymously cannot be thanked this way.
The link to the photo in your guest's email stays valid for one year from the day you send the message. After that the file is still stored, but the email link expires.
No. Sending Gratitude is included on every plan.
You do not have to. Sending Gratitude is optional. Some hosts prefer to send a card by post, and that is completely fine.
Privacy and security
You see everything in your dashboard: who gave, how much, and any message. Guests see your gifts and, once three gifts have been given, the initials of recent givers and how many gifts have been given. They never see amounts or messages.
The gift shows in your dashboard as from A generous guest, with the amount and any message, but not who gave it. On your page it is counted but never named.

Questions from people contributing to a wishing well on With A Bow.
Giving a gift
With A Bow is an Australian digital wishing well and gift registry. On your host's page you can give to a cash fund, or buy a registry item or book an experience on the store's own site.
No. Open the link they sent you, choose what you would like to give, and check out. No sign up required.
Credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe. Depending on your device and browser, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Link may also be offered at checkout. The platform fee is the same whichever way you pay.
Yes. Checkout may show the amount in your local currency, and the host receives the gift in Australian dollars.
Outside Australia, checkout may show your gift in your local currency. Stripe converts it, and the amount shown may include a currency conversion fee.
The minimum cash gift is $10 and the maximum is $50,000. Within that, give what feels right.
Cash gifts open 60 days before the event date. If you arrive earlier, that fund shows the date it opens, and you can come back then. Registry items and experiences on the same page can be given before then.
Yes. There is space to add a personal note to the host. Your message is shared privately with them, not on a public guestbook.
Yes. Tick the anonymous option at checkout. Your name and email are not shown to the host or on the page, and your gift appears as A generous guest. The host still sees the amount and any message you leave, but not who gave it.
Yes, for cash gifts. We email your receipt as soon as your gift goes through. Registry items and experiences are bought on the store's own site, so that store sends your receipt.
What it costs
That depends on the plan and settings your host has chosen. Some hosts cover the fee themselves, some share it with guests, and some ask guests to cover it. Whatever the setting, the exact amount you will pay is shown at checkout before you confirm your gift.
Your statement shows WITHABOW.COM.AU. That is the gift you gave through your host's With A Bow page.
Wishlist gifts
Select the item, add your name and email, and we open the store's page so you can buy it there. Then confirm on the host's page and we mark it as gifted. Delivery is arranged on the store's site, so check with the host where to send it.
All delivery and tracking is handled through your account with the retailer. With A Bow does not have visibility into orders placed on third-party sites, so for delivery questions please check the retailer directly.
Yes. When you confirm you have bought it, we mark the item as gifted so no one buys it twice, and the host sees your name unless you tick the anonymous option.
Experience gifts
It is something the host would love to do, like a tour or a night away, with a link to the provider. You book it on the provider's site and confirm on the host's page, so it shows as gifted.
Yes. You book it on the provider's own site, then confirm on the host's page so no one else books it. With A Bow does not take payment for experiences.
The page shows Has been gifted and it can no longer be chosen. You can give to one of the host's cash funds or choose another gift.
Privacy and security
Receiving a thank-you
It is a thank-you message from your host, with the subject line A note from, followed by the name of their event. It may include a personal message and a photo.
The photo link in your email stays valid for one year. We recommend saving it to your device if you would like to keep it for longer.
Help with a contribution
